PESHAWAR – Rainfall of varying intensities and gusty winds are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday and Tuesday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen on July 22 evening/night. A trough of westerly wave lies over the upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rainfall of varying intensities and gusty winds are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Haripur, Khyber, Peshawar, Kurram and Kohat on Monday and the next day with occasional gaps.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Peshawar remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
The maximum temperature in Dera Ismail Khan was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 55 per cent.
