Caretaker Federal Minister of Railways Shahid Ashraf Tarar on Tuesday commended the railway team for their successful efforts in boosting passenger and freight train revenues by 17%.
Chairing a meeting to assess the operational and administrative capabilities of the railways, he said the commercialization of the railway station would be executed incrementally. The minister announced that the railways’ financial performance had been positively impacted by the adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) within the railway infrastructure.
Moreover, he emphasized the need for an immediate focus on implementing an online fuel management system to enhance fuel efficiency in the railway sector. The meeting also decided to build Executive Toilets at all Category A railway stations through a (BOT) arrangement.—APP
