BALOCHISTAN is the centrepiece of multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project that is why our arch enemy is targeting the province time and again to sabotage this mega project aimed at making Pakistan hub of regional trade and economic activities.
In yet another despicable incident, four personnel of the Frontier Corps were martyred and twenty one others wounded in a suicide bomb attack on their convoy on Matung road in Quetta on Sunday. The security personnel have frequently been the target of these terrorist attacks in the province.
Claiming of the responsibility by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leaves no doubt as to who is behind the suicide bombing.
There is concrete evidence available that the outfit is fully supported and funded by the Indian government. The TTP has no organized infrastructure in Pakistan due to our security forces’ successful operations against the terrorists.
The outfit is currently operating from Afghanistan. Though the Taliban have assured Pakistan of not allowing the use of its soil against Pakistan, the situation however could deteriorate if Pakistan receives another influx of refugees.
Under the guise of refugees, the TTP operatives will definitely try to penetrate Pakistan for the execution of its sordid designs at the behest of its foreign master.
Therefore, it has become immensely important that any exodus is kept at the border areas just like Iran to keep our cities and towns safe and secure.
The remnants of TTP in Pakistan need to be hunted down through a better coordination with the intelligence agencies.
The proscribed outfit should not be allowed under any circumstances to regain foothold in Pakistan. Their operatives should be eliminated in their dens.
As also directed by Prime Minister Imran Khan most recently, there is a need to further enhance security measures in Balochistan.
We have no doubt in saying that prosperity of Pakistan is linked with the progress and development of Balochistan.
The projects being executed under the CPEC in the province must be fast tracked along with the complete operationalization of Gwadar Port.
The Chinese workers engaged with these projects must be given foolproof security so that they could work with complete sense of security.
