LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched on Wednesday the “Apna Chhat Apna Ghar” project to help people get their houses constructed in various districts of the province.
Speaking on the inauguration ceremony in Lahore, the chief minister said those who have a house often take it for granted, while those without one understand its true value.
She remarked that even if one possesses all the world’s blessings, lacking a personal roof creates a sense of incompleteness.
The chief minister praised Secretary of Housing Asadullah Khan for turning their vision into reality. She also shared the details regarding total loan amount, per month installment and others.
Interest-Free Housing Scheme Payment Plan
The chief minister said the government would provide interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million to those who own 1-5 marlas of land in urban areas and 1-10 marlas in rural areas.
She said the load would be paid back over a period of seven years or 84 months, adding that per month installment will be fixed at Rs14,000. She said the monthly installment has been fixed keeping in view the budget of a family.
CM Maryam Nawaz said no installment will be received in first three months.

The chief minister said those who are interested in getting the interest free loans are required to fill out an online application on the PITB online portal.
