ISLAMABAD – People across the Pakistan will observe a public holiday on Wednesday, August 14, to celebrate the 78th Independence Day.
As per the official calendar for public holidays for 2024, there will be a holiday on August 14 while an official notification in this regard will be issued in next week.
It commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state following the end of the British rule in August 1947.
Meanwhile, preparations to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting manner are in full-swing across the country.
Buildings are being decorated with national flags, buntings and lights. People have displayed national flags on their vehicles and rooftop of their houses.
Besides, stalls of National Flag, buntings, caps and children clothes have been set up in different markets.
