The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat held an open court session at the Commissioner Office in Keamari, Karachi, led by Senior Advisor Syed Anwar Haider, along with Associate Grievance Commissioners Syed Shujaat Abbas and Mola Bakhsh Sheikh. This session provided residents with a direct platform to voice their concerns. During the session, attendees raised issues related to difficulties in obtaining Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), particularly delays and procedural complexities. A representative from NADRA assured the public that efforts are underway to streamline the CNIC issuance process and urged citizens to follow procedural requirements to avoid delays.
Syed Anwar Haider also acknowledged the public’s concerns regarding recent increases in electricity bills, advising those affected by excessive charges to report such cases immediately to the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat in Karachi.
He emphasized the commitment to rectify any mismanagement in billing and hold responsible parties accountable. Other complaints included the lack of domestic gas connections and the deteriorating infrastructure in Keamari, such as poor road conditions and drainage systems. The Senior Advisor assured residents that these concerns would be promptly communicated to the relevant authorities for action.
The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to resolving public grievances swiftly and encouraged citizens to continue reporting any issues. Keamari residents appreciated the Federal Ombudsman’s visit and efforts to address their concerns.
