A meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was held under the auspices of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by eminent PPP leaders including PPP Parliamentarian’s Central Secretary Information Dr Nafisa Shah, Central Deputy Secretary Information Palwasha Khan, Senator AajizDhamrah, PPP Senator Sassui Palejo, PML-N spokesperson Khalid Hussain Sheikh, National Party Sindh Secretary Muhammad Arshad, Awami National Party Sindh spokesperson Bahri Kamal Advocate, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s Sikandar Khan and Bashir Mandokhel, JUI Sindh Deputy Information Secretary Muhammad Sami Swati, and Mufti Muhammad Ghaus Salari, JUP Karachi President Mustaqeem Noorani attended. The meeting discussed in detail the strategy to create public awareness and mass mobilisation under the banner of the PDM regarding the proposed public meeting on October 18 Bagh-e-Jinnah. The meeting strongly condemned the round-up of political activists and leaders across Punjab, especially in Gujranwala, and state terrorism, and demanded that the selected government of Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI), its facilitators, including the rulers is in an utter state of bewilderment because of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) effective moves. They are heavily confused on witnessing massive scale mass mobilisation and hence the ruling party is applying all kinds of state tactics on the opposition to somehow stop the PDM from running the mass movement. The meeting strongly condemned the NAB terrorism against the captive PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif and demanded his immediate release. The meeting also agreed on new strategy to attract full media coverage and on issuance of special passes to reporters. It was unanimously agreed in the meeting that the opposition would remain united in all circumstances and communication would be maintained at all times. The meeting also considered in detail Plan B, which will be applied when the government will use clever tactics to sabotage the PDM’s October 18 rally and arrest opposition leaders.
