Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has not yet secured permission from city authorities to hold a protest rally in Karachi on Sunday (today). The Commissioner of Karachi is currently seeking recommendations from the deputy commissioners and SSPs of the East and South districts before making a final decision on whether to allow the rally. PTI-Karachi had announced plans to organize a rally from the Karachi Press Club to Mazar-e-Quaid, aiming to press for the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision on reserved seats.
The party had formally submitted a request to the Commissioner for permission to hold the protest. At a press conference on Wednesday, PTI’s Karachi president, Raja Azhar, emphasized the importance of the rally, stating that the Supreme Court’s ruling clearly established PTI’s right to the reserved seats. The party views the demonstration as a means of ensuring the enforcement of the court’s decision.
