The family members and relatives of a daily-wage PDD employee staged a strong protest and blocked Thanamandi-Poonch-Bafliaz Road after he died due to electric shock while repairing a power transmis-sion line in Maniyal Gali area of Thanamandi tehsil.
Mohammad Jahangir, a daily wager in PDD and a resident of Azmatabad (Thannamandi), was re-pairing the power transmission line when suddenly an employee supplied the power in the transmission line and he got electrocuted. Local people took him unconscious to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
On hearing the news of the death of the daily wager employee, his family members and other relatives staged a strong protest and blocked the Thannamandi-Poonch- Bafliaz Road by keeping the body on the road.
Relatives of the deceased demanded the PDD and the Police Department to conduct a thorough probe into the matter and punish the guilty.—KMS
