LAHORE – The Lahore police on Tuesday appealed to people for evidence regarding the alleged incident of sexual assault on a student at a private college.

Shehr Bano stated that they do not have any CCTV footage related to the alleged incident.

She urged anyone with evidence of the assault on the student to come forward.

She added that the girl being mentioned fell at home, and there was no incident of sexual assault involving her; if anything happened to anyone else, they should inform the police.

The ASP stated that even if the police had not apprehended the guard, they would still be criticized.

On Monday, a news emerged of a student at a private college in Gulberg allegedly being assaulted by a security guard, which led students to boycott classes and start protests throughout the city.

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also formed a six-member committee to investigate the alleged assault case, which will submit its report within 48 hours.
