The police on Tuesday searched as many as 65 houses and 11 shops in different areas of Rawalpindi.
The search operation was conducted by the police on special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi.
According to police, heavy police contingents, Elite Force, Special Branch personnel and ladies police under the supervision of senior police officers conducted search operation and searched 65 houses, 11 shops, besides checking the particulars of 29 tenants. Over 185 persons were also checked during the operations, he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations)WaseemRiaz Khan said that search operations were being conducted to net criminals and other anti-social elements. Meanwhile, the same police arrested 10 suspects and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession on Tuesday.
According to the details, KalarSyedan police held Jawad and recovered a pistol with 30 rounds from his possession.
The same police recovered a carbine with 12 rounds from Ijaz, a rifle with 12 rounds from Shehzad, a rifle with 12 rounds from Sohail, 30 rounds from Nasir, and an MP-5 rifle from Tahir. Similarly, Bani police recovered a 30-bore pistol each from Jahanzeb and TahirHabib. SaddarWah and Rawat police also recovered a 30-bore pistol each from Omar Hayat and Faisal respectively.
