In Karachi, a case has been registered at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) following a recent explosion near the airport signal. The complaint was filed by Kaleem Musa, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Airport Police Station. The blast targeted a convoy of Chinese nationals who were en route from the airport to Shahrah-e-Faisal. According to the case details, the attack was claimed by a banned organization, which sought to undermine the country’s reputation. Tragically, the explosion resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two Chinese nationals, and injured one police officer, Habibullah.

The incident impacted 15 vehicles, including the attackers’ vehicle, as well as a police mobile unit that was destroyed in the blast. A police report indicates that an unidentified assailant used an explosives-laden Toyota Hilux truck to collide with the convoy. The convoy comprised police and Rangers vehicles escorting the Chinese nationals. Following the explosion, the bodies of the deceased and one injured individual were transported to a local hospital. Junaid Baloch, a spokesperson for the banned organization, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The masterminds behind the operation have been identified as Commander Bashir Ahmed Baloch and Abdul Rahman, alias Rahman Gul.

Reports suggest that these individuals, along with other facilitators, devised the plan for the attack, allegedly with the support of a foreign intelligence agency aimed at targeting Chinese citizens.
