Police has arrested a gang of thieves’ redhanded, involved in stealing the underground PTCL cables, a policeofficial said on Sunday.A police team headed by DSP Frere ChaudhryShahid conducted raid andarrested 10 accused and recovered Rs 2.5 million worth stolen cable fromtheir possession.Police officials also recovered a tractor and truck from theirpossession.
“Three in-service PTCL employees were also among thearrested accused,” SSP Karachi South SajidSaddozai said.“The men were stealing PTCL cable near the St. Anthony church and hadloaded the cable at a small truck,” SSP Saddozai said. He said theaccused were arrested red handed and stolen cables recovered from theirpossession.An accused, identified as IqbalKabari (junk dealer), was escaped fromthe scene. SSP South said that a case being registered against thearrested accused.
