The district police in Peshawar have arrested at least 12 accused involved in street crimes and motorcycle snatching. The arrests were made in two separate operations conducted by the police in Peshawar Cantt Division and Pishtakhara area.
In the first operation, the police arrested three accused identified as Yusuf, Manzoor and Hameed. The accused were arrested on the complaint of a citizen who had his motorcycle snatched at gunpoint. The police said that the accused have confessed to committing several street crimes and motorcycle snatchings in the area. Seven snatched motorcycles were also recovered from their possession.
In the second operation, the police arrested nine accused identified as Arbab Fayyaz, Zafar, Mansoor, Munsif, Saeed, Shah Sawar, Haider and Rambel. The accused were arrested from different parts of Pishtakhara area.
The police said that the accused were involved in various street crimes, including robbery, snatching and theft. Stolen items, bikes, narcotics and illegal weapons were also recovered from their possession. The police said that the crackdown against street criminals will continue.
