ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday came under shoe attack after supporters of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) clashed with opposition leaders outside the parliament ahead of vote of confidence motion for Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The PML-N leaders including Iqbal, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were holding a press conference outside the parliament when a group of around 200 PTI supporters surrounded them and started raising slogans against them, besides manhandling them.
The situation aggravated when the PML-N leaders also raised retaliatory slogans. Abbasi also thrashed a member of the group.

Amid the scenario, Ahsan Iqbal was responding to the PTI supporters’ slogans when a shoe was hurled hitting his shoulder.
The PML-N ha accused the PTI supporters of the attack. However, police said that it was not confirmed whether the shoe was hurled by a PTI supporter.
