KARACHI – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated Pakistan Navy’s effective role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as Pakistan teach arch-enemy India a lesson not easy to forget after misadventure.
Sharif paid visit to the Pakistan Navy Dockyard today to honor the Pakistan Navy’s pivotal contributions in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. The Prime Minister was warmly received by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, alongside Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu.
During the visit, the premier boarded the Type-054A Class Destroyer PNS TAIMUR, where he was briefed by the Commander of Pakistan Fleet on the Navy’s strategic priorities, ongoing operations, and critical achievements related to the current operation.
Expressing his admiration, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif interacted with naval officers and sailors, commending their professionalism, combat readiness, and steadfast commitment to national defense. He conveyed the nation’s deep appreciation and reaffirmed strong confidence in the Armed Forces’ capabilities.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister praised the Pakistan Navy’s robust operational posture and effective deterrence against maritime threats. He underscored the Navy’s essential role in protecting sea lines of communication, ensuring uninterrupted maritime trade, and maintaining Pakistan’s maritime sovereignty through a multi-layered defense system.
Recalling the Navy’s historic achievements, he emphasized its continued readiness to conduct high-intensity operations similar to the legendary Operation Dwarka, whenever required.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaulah Tarar, and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiquie during the visit.
