The PKR continued to recover for the sixth consecutive session on Friday, gaining Rs1.18 against the dollar in the interbank market.
The local currency closed at Rs228.45 per dollar, up 0.52 per cent from Thursdays close of Rs229.63, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
The PKR had fallen close to an all-time low of Rs239.94 on Sept 22. It has been on an uptrend since last Friday, with its value improving by Rs10.08 or 4.2pc over the last five sessions.
Meanwhile, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around Friday to bullish trend, gaining 114.81 points, a positive change of 0.28 percent, closing at 41,128.67 against 41,013.86 points on the last working day. A total of 205,699,969 shares were traded during the day compared to 127,449,289 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs.9.499 billion against Rs. 5.518 billion on the last trading day.
