Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has earned the distinction of winning the country’s first National Tourism Award. The award was presented to PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat during a ceremony held on World Tourism Day, recognizing the airline’s significant role in promoting domestic tourism.
PIA is the only national airline that connects the farthest corners of the country with both domestic and international destinations. In recent years, the airline has led a campaign to showcase the beauty of Pakistan’s northern regions to the world, further boosting tourism in these scenic areas.
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson called the award an honor for the airline, acknowledging its vital contribution to the nation. “This recognition highlights our national role, and PIA will continue to play its part as a national carrier in promoting tourism across the country,” the spokesperson added.
