Peshawar High Court on Saturday dismissed the report of the Transparency International alleging corruption in the Judiciary, calling for having solid evidence before releasing a report.
Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan while dismissing the Transparency International’s report linking the judiciary to corruption asserted that the report lacked the truth.
During the hearing of the case against the report, Chief Justice Khan challenged Transparency International to point out corruption in the judiciary if there was any. He emphasized the need for concrete evidence before releasing a report.
However, in response to the Chief Justice’s inquiry, members of the administration and lawyers presented evidence to the court.
A representative from Amnesty International explained that they were compiling a report based on a public survey, which has been submitted to the Peshawar High Court. The court, having reviewed the report, decided to postpone further hearings till January 15, 2024.
