The government decided to maintain rates of petrol, diesel, and other petroleum products for the second half of November 2024.

A notification issued by the Finance Division confirmed that the price of petrol will remain at Rs 248.38, while diesel will continue to be priced at Rs 255.14 for the next fortnight.

Despite earlier expectations of a price reduction, with reports suggesting a Rs 2.50 cut for petrol and a Rs 6 decrease for High-Speed Diesel (HSD), the government has opted to keep the prices steady.

Current Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan:

  • Petrol: Rs 248.38
  • Diesel: Rs 255.14

The decision comes as the demand for petrol and HSD remains high, driven by urban expansion and the continued reliance on fuel for transportation and agricultural activities. However, the consumption of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and kerosene has been declining, as these products are primarily used in specialized industries.

The government’s decision to freeze fuel prices is expected to have significant implications for sectors dependent on transportation and agriculture, which are key drivers of the national economy.

Petrol, Diesel prices remain unchanged for second half of November
