PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered rains with snowfall over the mountains for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next two days.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is likely to affect western parts of Balochistan today evening/night.

Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening/night and the following two days.

However, rain with snowfall over mountain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Waziristan and Kurrum on Friday evening/night and Saturday.

Fog is likely to persist in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan and Swabi during morning and night hours.

Moderate to dense fog may cause closure of Motorway from Peshawar to Swabi and Swabi to Islamabad from late night to early morning.

Less visibility will also likely disturb vehicular movement on major inter and intra city roads in the province.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 06 C below the freezing point.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 17 C.

Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 73 per cent.
