In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people carrying table fans and empty buckets took to streets at many places in Udhampur and Samba districts of Jammu region to lodge their protest against the authorities over unscheduled power cuts. A large number of people at Main Bazar Ud-hampur, Ward Number 7 Shakti Nagar, Pitan Bhar Udhampur and other areas came out on the road and held protest demonstrations against the authorities.
Irate people were raising slogans against the Government saying that for the last few days, people of the areas were facing frequent unscheduled power cuts with the result water supply had also been severely hit.
“During these hot summer days, long and unscheduled power curtailment has made life miser-able,” they said.
Up in arms against hours long power cuts, the people also took out a protest rally at main Samba Bazar.
The protesting workers carried table fans and empty buckets to highlight the plights of common people, who are without electricity as well as water supply.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta said that summer was at its peak and the people have been suffering due to scheduled as well as uncheduled power cuts.
Ashok Gupta explained that due to low power supply, water supply was also affected adversely.—KMS
