LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) allowed bail to PTI leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez  Elahi on Tuesday in a case regarding illegal recruitments  in the Punjab Assembly.

Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmad announced the verdict reserved earlier.

The PTI leader had sought post-arrest bail from the LHC after being detained by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on October 25, 2023.

Parvez Elahi faced multiple arrests since June 1 in various cases, with the most recent arrest by the Punjab ACE occurring on September 18.

According to an ACE spokesperson, Elahi was involved in 12 unlawful recruitments for grade 17 positions in the Punjab Assembly, achieved by altering official records.
