ISLAMABAD – At least three militants were killed as security forces in North Waziristan thwarted an infiltration bid from Afghanistan, ISPR said.

A statement issued by the Army’s media wing said security forces successfully thwarted infiltration attempt by a group of TTP (Khawarij), who were trying to cross Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The movement of the militants was detected by security personnel in the general area of Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District.

Pakistani troops engaged militants and prevented their entry into the country. As a result, three Khwarij were killed in the operation. This action highlights the continued threat posed by militants attempting to use Afghan soil to launch cross-border attacks.

Islamabad continues to highlight the issue with Interim Afghan Government to improve border management on its side of the border to prevent such incursions.

Pakistani government again urged Kabul to uphold its responsibilities in denying militants the use of Afghan territory to launch terrorist activities against Pakistan, and reiterated their unwavering commitment to securing the nation’s borders and eliminating terrorism, ensuring the safety of its citizens.
