BULAWAYO – Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 57 runs in the T20I series opener in Bulawayo on Sunday.
Chasing a competitive 166-run target for the victory, the hosts were all out for 108 in 15.3 overs despite a brisk 59-run partnership between skipper Sikandar Raza (39) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (33) after losing two early wickets.
Besides these two significant contributions, no other batter could enter the double figures.
Sufiyan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed bagged three wickets each and Haris Rauf two while Jahandad Khan took one wicket.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan made 165/4 in the allocated 20 overs. Usman Khan and player of the match Tayyab Tahir scored 39 runs each, Irfan Khan 27, Saim Ayub 24, Omair Yousaf 16 and skipper Salman Agha 13 runs. Richard Nagarava, Sikandar Raza, Ryan Buri and Wellington Masakadza took one wicket each.
