Pakistan not holding backdoor talks with India: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said Pakistan is not holding backdoor talks with India. This announcement came just two days after Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Foreign Minister himself warned India of befitting response at all levels of threat in case of any false flag operation and surgical strike. It is pertinent to note that Pakistan already expressed said Pakistan has information that the Indian government led by the Hindu nationalist BJP is planning to conduct a false flag operation in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and it is looking for an excuse to accomplish its nefarious designs.
He was talking to media persons here after the urs ceremonies of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam concluded on Wednesday. Commenting on the Pakistan Decorative Movement (PDM) the foreign minister said: “Our government has no interest in just sticking to the chair. And the government has not closed the door for talks with the opposition.” The Foreign Minister said Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is dispersing and even JUI-F as a party did not agree with the statement of JUI-F supremo Fazl-ur-Rehman.
Earlier Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the government is not afraid of long march by opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). Talking to media persons, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) is currently in turmoil and asked political opponent that why they are hesitant if they are really want to resign from assemblies.
The foreign minister said that government has refused to get pressurized by opposition and claimed that PDM wanted to reach a deal for their personal interests. Talking about National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws, he said that it was negligence of opposition parties if they failed to amend the laws regarding the anti-graft watchdog and asked them to not link the matter with legislation regarding Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as it is an issue of national importance.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi claimed that political opponent of the government asked to amend NAB laws for their support for legislation regarding FATF and amendments proposed by opposition parties were equivalent to an NRO.
