Pakistan Navy deploys helicopters in Gwadar to expedite rescue, relief operation

Pakistan Navy has extended relief and rescue operations to various small coastal villages of Balochistan affected by recent flash flooding. Pakistan Navy has expedited rescue and relief operations by stationing helicopters in flood-affected areas of Gwadar District. Pakistan Navy helicopters undertook multiple hops from Gwadar to the flood affected villages of Pishukan and Kappar. Relief teams delivered ration bags, clean drinking water and food items near people stranded in their villages.

Moreover, ration and relief goods distribution conducted by Pakistan Navy personnel amongst flood affectees of Gwadar city. In addition, large numbers of medical supplies and ration bags have also been dispatched to different other flood-affected villages through road where land connectivity is restored.

Further, in assistance to civil administration, Pakistan Navy troops are wholeheartedly undertaking rescue and relief operations utilizing all available equipment and resources. In this regard, de-flooding operations are being conducted on various localities of Gwadar city to clear flood water.

Pakistan Navy is resolutely committed to supporting our flood-affected brethren during this difficult time. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Sunday reached Gwadar to review the situation caused by heavy rains in the coastal city and the measures being taken for the rescue of affected people.

He was accompanied by Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) including Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Ali Madad Jattak, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, Mir Obaid Girgij and Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan on his one-day visit to Gwadar. Talking to media persons, CM said that the government would not leave the affected people alone at such a critical time and would provide all possible help to the affectees.

Pakistan Army, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and other institutions have taken steps by bringing all their resources to bear in this hour of difficulty, CM said. He appreciated the people of Gwadar, in the way which they have cooperated with the aid agencies in this difficult time. The provincial government was making all-out efforts and utilizing all available resources for the rehabilitation of the flood affectees, he added.

Chief Minister, during his one-day visit to Gwadar, met the flood-affected families and distributed relief items. He said steps would be taken to rehabilitate the flood affectees after the completion of the rescue operation. Sarfraz said that emergency measures are being taken to drain out rainwater from the population and restore normal life in the flood-hit areas.

The Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti will also meet the affected families by the recent torrential rains and floods during his maiden official visit to Gwadar. The Commissioner Makran Division will brief the newly elected Chief Minister of Balochistan regarding the situation caused by recent rains and flood-affected families, the losses, and the steps taken for rescue and relief operation.
