ISLAMABAD – The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Tuesday launched the door-to-door campaign to vaccinate people against COVID-19.
While addressing the press conference, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar made the announcement in this regard, stating that 55,000 mobile teams will go into the field to vaccinate people at their doorsteps.
NCOC chief said that thirty-five million people would be administered jabs against the infection in the first phase.
Umar revealed that 80 million people have so far been fully vaccinated while ten million others have received the first dose. He added that 2.6 million people also received the booster dose.
The minister stressed that vaccination is the only way to get rid of Covid-19.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Faisal Sultan urged people to welcome the mobile vaccination teams at homes, and receive vaccination.
Pakistan reported 5,327 new coronavirus cases, 32 deaths in the last 24 hours, said NCOC in a statement.
The overall deaths reached 29,301 whhile the total cases surged to 1,430,366. Pakistan conducted a total of 55,202 cases in the last 24 hours. The number of patients in critical care was 1,500.
