PESHAWAR – A joint military exercise is underway between Pakistan and Chinese forces, with special focus on the counter-terrorism domain, the military’s media wing said.
Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said Pakistan Army and Chinese People’s Liberation Army launched their annual joint military exercise, Warrior-VIII at the National Counter Terrorism Center in Pabbi. The three-week-long drill was inaugurated with an opening ceremony attended by high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, Corps Commander Rawalpindi, who served as the chief guest.
Rawalpindi Corps Commander stressed significance of the exercise, highlighting its role in strengthening the long-standing military cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing.
The exercise Warrior-VIII aims to improve operational skills of both armies, with specific focus on combating terrorism. The exercise also serves to further cement the strong defense ties between the two nations, reinforcing their commitment to countering security threats in the region.
