A webinar was held by Maritime Study Forum on “A Comparative Analysis of Maritime Budget in South Asia & Maritime Policy of Pakistan – Challenges and Responses”. The guests and participants in the session included prominent scholars from academia, media persons and policy makers. The conference was held keeping in view the recent budget passed by the government where budget allocated to maritime sector decreased significantly from Rs. 3.6 billion to Rs. 2.6 billion. On the contrary, year 2020 was declared to be the year of Blue Economy by the Government of Pakistan.
During the discussion session one of the panelists, Dr. Aneel Salman, Member Board of Directors Maritime Study Forum, focused on the policy paralysis where we have a conflict of objective among every succeeding government, and different bodies cannot work together with other institutions resulting in a stalemate.
