Ombudsman orders swift resolve of health dept complaints

A crucial meeting chaired by Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mohammad Sohail Rajput, was held at the office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh to address public complaints related to the Sindh Health Department. The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Muhammad Rehan Baloch, Advisors, Registrar of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, and other concerned officers. During the meeting, both the Provincial Ombudsman and Secretary Health Sindh were briefed about the pending public complaints registered with the Ombudsman’s office regarding the Sindh Health Department. Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mohammad Sohail Rajput, emphasized the need for timely resolution of all legitimate complaints and instructed the Health Secretary to immediately nominate focal persons at all relevant levels to address these issues.

He also requested details of the operational budget of Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad. Furthermore, he raised concerns about the dismissal of polio workers without pay and highlighted numerous complaints regarding employees recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic that remain unresolved. In response, Secretary Health Sindh, Muhammad Rehan Baloch, assured that the Health Department would promptly nominate focal persons and requested the Ombudsman to provide the necessary complaints and documents.

He committed that all legitimate grievances would be addressed in line with the Provincial Ombudsman’s orders, and instructions would be issued to focal persons to ensure that issues within the health sector are resolved swiftly.The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mohammad Sohail Rajput, concluded the meeting by announcing that a follow-up meeting would be held soon to review the status of both resolved and pending complaints.
