ISLAMABAD – With tensions running high between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India, Godi media have recently accused Pakistan of firing Shaheen missile – an absolute lie being shared online.
As Indian media remained busy with pushing fake narrative, Pakistani government firmly turned down recent allegations from parts of Indian media accusing it of firing Shaheen missile during Operation Bunyunum Marsoos (BM).
Foreign Office dismissed claims as “baseless and unfounded” in a statement released on Monday. It mentioned that Pakistan did not use Shaheen missile in operation, contradicting reports triggered by clip initially posted on Indian Army’s official Twitter account.
The video, which allegedly showed the missile’s deployment, was later removed after being proven false. The spokesperson expressed concern that before the video was taken down, several Indian media outlets had already circulated the misleading content without verifying its authenticity. The Foreign Office also criticized the Indian Army for failing to issue any clarification or retraction following the video’s deletion.
The misinformation appears to be an attempt to divert attention from India’s setbacks during Operation Sindoor. The campaign aims to attribute Indian losses to Pakistan’s superior conventional military capabilities.
The statement further accused Indian government of using controversy to reinforce broader allegations against Islamabad, including claims of “nuclear blackmail” and ceasefire violations, all of which Pakistan has consistently denied.
