ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Armed Forces spokesperson firmly turned down any Indian supremacy in region, making it clear that Islamabad “will never bow to Indian action amid ongoing regional tensions.

In an interview with Turkish News Agency, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry dismissed comparisons of Pakistan’s geopolitical position to other global conflicts, saying, “India is not United States, and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel, and Pakistan is not Palestine. We cannot be coerced or intimidated. The sooner this is understood, the better for peace in South Asia.”

Lt. Gen Sharif said the request for ceasefire came through diplomatic backchannels, reportedly initiated by New Delhi. “We desire peace and stability. That’s why we responded positively.

Chief of military’s media wing lamented New Delhi for targeting religious minorities, which he said contributes to rising militancy and internal unrest. He reiterated that Pakistan is peace-seeking nation and emphasized that the international community—especially responsible global powers—recognizes the country’s restraint and diplomatic maturity.

Pakistan, and India engaged in deepest strikes in last 5 decades as tensions peak in Early May after Indian air strikes killed more than 30 civilians in Punjab and AJK. Pak Forces then shot down five Indian jets and intercepted multiple drones under “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos,” targeting Indian military installations.

ISPR chief lamented India for quickly blaming Pakistan for a deadly incident in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam without any investigation. He said Pakistan offered to cooperate with a neutral probe, but India refused and instead carried out military retaliation targeting civilian areas, causing casualties among children, women, and the elderly.

ISPR chief further accused India of supporting terrorism inside Pakistan, mentioning the arrest of a terror suspect in Jhelum linked to Indian intelligence, and claimed India is the main source of regional instability by backing groups like the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
