Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said here on Tuesday that no nation can develop and progress without meaningful contribution from its women population.
Speaking as chief guest at Al-Hamra as chief special guest at the International Women’s Day event, the Health Minister said women are proving themselves in every field of life.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab and Spokesperson Punjab Government Hassaan Khawar was also present as Guest of Honour.
The event was organized by the TDCP. Rich tributes were paid to Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid for her valuable services in the field of health.
The Health Minister said, “I congratulate the organizers for organizing a great event on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Women are playing a vital role in improving the economy of the country. Women are working hard in every field. I am a sports woman.
I reached at K2 Base camp with 5 patients in 2001 to raise awareness about Thalassemia in Pakistan.
At that time everyone thought that as a woman I would not be able to do it but by the grace of Allah I did it.
A team of 32 people reached the base camp of K2 in 2001 and played a pivotal role in raising awareness about thalassemia. I again went to Base camp of K2 in 2004. If a woman is determined to achieve success in life, she can do it. Allah Pak has bestowed great honors on women. Islam has emphasized women’s rights. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to stand and greet his daughter Hazrat Bibi Fatima Al-Zahra (RA). The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to consult his daughter Hazrat Bibi Fatima Al-Zahra (RA) before going to every war. Age does not hinder the development of any human being. I owe a lot in life to sports. Women are playing an important role in the development of Pakistan. Today I would like to ask parents to discriminate between sons and daughters and daughters.
Never discriminate between your children. According to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the people of Punjab are striving to provide better healthcare facilities.”
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Hassan Khawar distributed cash prizes and awards among women for outstanding performance in various walks of life.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab also presented a shield to Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid. Hassaan Khawar said when thought of International Women’s Day, no other personality came to his mind except Dr. Yasmin Rashid. He said Dr. Yasmin Rashid is a very active person in the field of health as well as in politics.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid served people without caring about her health. Women are working hard in every field for the development of the country.
