No cash payment to unbank FEB, GIF beneficiaries from July 1

The beneficiaries of Federal Employees Benevolent and Group Insurance Fund (FEB & GIF) have been asked to open their accounts in nearby National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by May 31, 2021 as the cash payments would be stopped from July 1, 2021.

From July 1 onwards the monthly benevolent grants to FEB & GIF beneficiaries would be directly repatriated into the personal NBP (National Bank of Pakistan) accounts of the beneficiaries, an official told media.

The beneficiaries must open their accounts in their nearest branch of NBP by May 31,2021.

After opening the account the same may be communicated to FEB & GIF through bank on prescribed format, including details of benevolent grant case no. (Computerized National Identity Cards) CNIC of employee, beneficiary; account no. of beneficiary; name of NBP branch with code, amount of monthly grant date & amount of last payment made by the NBP duly recommended by the bank branch manager.

The said information should be duly verified and recommended by the respective NBP branch man-ager.

According to its website, more than 649,000 Federal Government Employees are being covered under its welfare schemes. Over 40 pc families have so far received benefits from the funds.

It covers all Federal Government employees and the employees of those autonomous bodies to whom coverage of the FEBF & GI Act 1969 has been extended.

Nine different benefits namely cash awards on essay writing competition; fee reimbursement; lum sum grant; burial charges; monthly benevolent grant; sum assured; farewell grant; marriage grant and education stipend are being paid under its welfare schemes.
