DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates has announced a public holiday on July 7 for private sector companies on the eve of the new Islamic year.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in a press release.
It announced that Sunday, 7th July, 2024 (1st Muharram), will be an official paid holiday for private sector companies in the UAE on the occasion of the new Hijri year 1446 AH.
The employees of private companies in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajma, Sharjah and other emirates will enjoy a public holiday on July 7.
After the Hijri New Year, residents would tak a holiday on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s birthday, according to a list of holidays for 2024, announced by the country’s Cabinet.
