Ambassador of Nepal, Tapas Adhikari has termed Pakistan’s northern areas and lofty mountains among world’s top tourist attractions while its mountains are full of attractions for the mountaineers around the globe. The country is blessed with huge tourism and mountaineering potential and if proper attention is paid along with necessary infrastructure, this sector can earn huge revenues for the country.

He expressed these views while addressing a reception he organized in honour of the Pakistani and the Nepali mountaineers, namely, Sajid Ali Sadpara, Naila Kiani, Sirbaz Khan, Mingma G Sherpa and Dawa G Sherpa. The event was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the maiden ascent of Mount Everest. Defence Attache of the Embassy Col Amrit, Joint Secretary Council of Common Interest and President of Alpine Club of Pakistan Abu Zafar Sadiq, senior officials of the embassy and media persons were also present on the occasion.

There are many unnamed peaks in Pakistan full of promise and adventure for the Pakistani and the foreign mountaineers and adventurers, said the ambassador.

He showered praise on the three Pakistani mountaineers who have recently scaled Mount Everest last month in May and called them role models for the youth. Naila Kian he said has proven that Pakistani women are equally strong, determined and can do anything men can do. Likewise, Sajid Ali Sadpara, son of Pakistan’s iconic mountaineer, Ali Sadpara who lost his life during K2 expedition in February 2021, has also made history by scaling Mount Everest without the supply of Oxygen.
