LAHORE – Team Pakistan remained in dire straits amid the ongoing Test series against Australia as spinner Noman Ali has been ruled out in the wake of appendicitis, and now Pakistan Cricket has announced his replacement.
In a statement, PCB said spinner Mohammad Nawaz will play as Noman Ali has been ruled out for the rest two games.
PCB’s national selection committee chief Wahab Riaz gave the nod for the selection of orthodox seamer Muhammad Nawaz. He will fly to Australia over the weekend to join the squad.
In previous development, Noman suffered from intense stomach pain on Friday and underwent emergency scans, which confirmed the diagnosis of appendicitis.
Board officials also confirmed that Nouman underwent laparoscopic appendectomy earlier today at the doctor’s recommendation.
He [Noman] becomes the second Pakistani bowler to have been ruled out of the Test series after Khurram Shahzad’s exit.
Chief selector called Nouman’s setback unfortunate for Team Pakistan, saying he is not available for the Test matches.
Pakistan is due to play second game in Melbourne on December 26 after losing the maiden game of the 3-match series.
