Mayor Waseem Akhtar along with Senior Deputy Convener MQM Pakistan Amir Khan and former minister Abdul Haseeb called on renowned religious scholar Allama Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi on Friday.
The mayor assured the scholar that every possible step will be taken to maintain law and order in Ashura Muharram and to provide local government facilities. During Muharram, communal harmony and solidarity is required to thwart the intentions of miscreants and enemies of peace. Citizens celebrate their religious festivals with traditional sanctity and respect. Therefore, on such occasions, all civic bodies should discharge their responsibilities in the best possible way. He said that the formation of a new district is an affront to the city. The division of Karachi is not acceptable.
