The MQM-Pakistan launched a blood drive for children with Thalassemia at Khidmat Khalq Foundation on Sunday.
The party workers and people are collecting large amount of blood donations in Khidmat Khalq Foundation.
A large number of women also reached KKF to donate blood to children with thalassemia.
A large number of children suffering from thalassemia from all over Karachi also came to Khidmat Khalq Foundation Timely blood supply to thalassemia and accidental patients continues at Khidmat Khalq Foundation, a welfare organization of MQM-Pakistan.
MQM-P Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senior Deputy Convener Amir Khan, Wasim Akhtar and others also visited Khidmat Khalq Foundation.
Siddiqui congratulated a large number of workers for providing blood to children with Thalassemia.
Aamir Khan, Member Coordinating Committee and Senator Syed Faisal Sabzwari also donated blood exclusively for children with Thalassemia.
Siddiqui said on the occasion that Corona crisis had raised fears of anemia in children with thalassemia.
“MQM-Pakistan today fulfilled a great national responsibility by donating blood to children with thalassemia. There are rows of people in the MQM-P camp who donated their blood.
He said MQM-Pakistan workers have given their blood in every difficult situation. “We appeal to the whole nation to support MQM-Pakistan to fight a disease like thalassemia. We have to donate blood to these children to gain the blessings of Allah.”
Meanwhile, Assessing the gravity of the situation, the government has undertaken measures to help resolve the issue on a priority basis by directing the concerned departments, health forums and social organisations to launch a campaign for blood donations to overcome the shortage for thalassemia centres.
A Pakistan Thalassemia Centre (PTC) report states that the country has approximately 100,000 patients suffering from the inherited genetic disorder.
