Administrator Laiq Ahmed has said that disinfectant spray campaign is going on in the city without any discrimination and will continue for one month in collaboration with Saylani Welfare Trust so that various epidemic diseases can be eradicated from the city.
On Saturday, 12 vehicles and staff took part in spray drive from Rehri Goth Orangi No. 5 to Sector 12 Qasba Colony, Pathan Colony and Numaish areas, he said, adding that the changing weather has led to an increase in mosquito breeding.
“It is important to carry out the spray campaign successfully,” he said and added that providing protection from mosquitoes and other germs is one of the main responsibilities of the KMC, so no negligence will be tolerated in it.
He said that welfare and social organizations, civil society and esteemed cities would be welcome to help KMC in this regard.
The Administrator asserted that this is the city of all of us and its future belongs to us and our future belongs to this city,therefore, every citizen should contribute at his own level for the betterment, development and prosperity of this city.
“We are in touch with various social and welfare organizations and the assistance required by KMC in various projects is being provided to them so that the fruits of these welfare and social activities can reach the citizens more effectively,” said Laiq Ahmed.
He directed the Director Public Health that according to the schedule prepared for spraying, spray vehicles should reach all areas of Karachi in turn and in narrow streets where it is not possible to reach easily.
