In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kash-mir, the Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday lashed out at Modi government in India for ‘welcoming’ Chinese troops while using iron fist on its own people.
She was commenting in reference to the Uttar Pradesh government’s move to detain opposition leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi, as they tried to visit families of slain farmers.
At least eight farmers were killed when a con-voy of vehicles associated with the BJP’s Min-ister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni, his son, his uncle and other goons who ran over several protesters in Uttar Pradesh.
It happened during a protest held in Lakhimpur against Teni for a speech about the farm laws protest last month.
“Applying Section 144 wherever human rights & dignity is trampled has emerged as Modi regime’s preferred approach. This gov-ernment shows no hesitation in using an iron fist with its own people but welcomes Chinese troops with open arms,” Mehbooba said in a tweet.
She further added: “One can’t even com-pare the oppression unleashed in J&K since 2019 but the common denominators are obvi-ous. What started in J&K was sadly met with an air of indifference & has now engulfed the entire country. When will we speak up?”—KMS
