Mobile phone service to be suspended in these cities on Chehlum of Imam Hussain

LAHORE – The Punjab government has decided to partially suspend the mobile service in 10 districts of the province on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA), which will be marked on August 27 in Pakistan.

The Punjab Home Department has sent a request to the federal government to suspend the mobile service in the areas where processions and Chehlum gatherings will be held.

The services will remain suspended in the 10 districts from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm.

No Mobile Service in 10 Districts on Chehlum 2024

The mobile service will remain partially suspended in Rawalpindi, Jhang, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Chakwal and Toba Tek Singh.

However, the service will remain normal in all other districts of Punjab, including Lahore.

The decision to suspend mobile services in specific locations has been taken to ensure peaceful conduction of Chehlum processions.

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his devoted companions is observed on 20th of the Islamic month of Safar-ul-Muzaffar with religious reverence to remember their supreme sacrifices for the cause of Islam.
