The Edulji Dinshaw Building, built in 1894-1898, is associated with Seth Edulji Dinshaw – a renowned Parsi philanthropist of per-partition Karachi, who contributed towards its construction as a charitable women hospital with a capacity of 192 beds.

Edulji Dinshaw Building has undergone incompatible additions, alterations and renovation works in the past which have brought about its decline and it is now in the state of deterioration and underuse.

The project, involving managing of damp, restoration of building envelop and restoration and rehabilitation of building interiors, is estimated to cost Rs.35.141 million and it will take two and a half year to complete.
