Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama Jammu and Kashmir has strongly reacted against the registration of a case against the Majlis member and religious leader Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al-Safavi on the ridiculous charge of spreading religious animosity.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the MMU in a statement issued in Srinagar said Agha Moosvi has always tried to promote sectarian unity and communal harmony in the territory, and summoning him on the above charge is devoid any worth.

“Rather, Agha Sahib had played a key role in maintaining peace and order and maintaining mutual brotherhood after the incident that occurred in the Sumbal area that particular day,” the statement added.

“There is no justification for such a case against the religious leader and the administration must withdraw the case,” the Majlis added.—KMS
