Mayor nitiates urban forest project along Lyari river

Mayor, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, inaugurated the establishment of an Urban Forest around Lyari River in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Various youth organizations, female members of the city council, and chairpersons from different political parties affiliated with UCs planted trees in the vicinity. Three thousand plants are being planted on the left bank of Malir River. Mayor Karachi, Barrister MurtazaWahab, emphasized that the Urban Forest will contribute to reducing Karachi’s temperature.

He added that through this initiative, Karachi will be made greener, and tree plantation will also extend to the surroundings of Karachi’s highways. Efforts are underway to improve Karachi’s parks, with comprehensive renovation work being carried out. Various facilities have been provided in Ibn-e-Qasim Park, attracting a large number of citizens.

Mayor Karachi, Barrister MurtazaWahab, affirmed plans to enhance parks in every district of Karachi. Furthermore, tree plantation campaigns will also be initiated in Karachi’s suburban areas. Mayor Karachi, Barrister MurtazaWahab, reiterated the commitment to make Karachi greener and more environmentally friendly.
