Prominent intellectual Masood Mufti passed away at the age of 78 on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by his widow Mukhtarma Bushra Mufti and four sons.
Masood Mufti was a prolific writer and fiction writer. His collection of articles on the triangle of Bangladesh, Hum Nafs, Fragments and the Edge of the Fountains, as well as a personal diary moment, a face reportage and his latest work, Do Minar (Autobiography Dastan), was published two months ago. Masood Mufti’s funeral will be held today 12:30 pm at his residence House No. 4 Street 28 F1 / 6 and his funeral prayers will be offered at H8 Cemetery and he will be buried there.
A meeting of poets and writers of Islamabad on the sudden death of Masood Mufti was held at the residence of Zafar Bakhtawari, Chairman Pakistan Cultural Forum under the chairmanship of Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi Chairman Daira in which it was decided that In memory of Masood Mufti National Literary Reference will be held in which eminent intellectuals from all over the country will participate.
