Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, chaired a comprehensive performance review meeting and an open forum to address public grievances. The review, attended by Additional Secretary MoMA Umer Zafar Sheikh and Board Members/Trustees of key maritime organizations, assessed the progress and challenges of the Port Qasim Authority (PQA), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC).
The meeting analyzed monthly performance metrics and discussed strategies to boost efficiency and productivity in the maritime sector. Recommendations for enhancing service delivery were finalized, with a commitment to prompt implementation to foster growth and progress.
Following the review, Minister Sheikh hosted a Khuli Kachehri (open forum), providing maritime employees and stakeholders a platform to voice their concerns, suggestions, and ideas.
Attended by representatives from PQA, KPT, PNSC, and other maritime organizations, the forum enabled direct engagement with the Minister. Minister Sheikh assured attendees that their issues would be addressed promptly, with directives issued for prioritizing resolutions.
The forum reflected a collaborative approach, emphasizing the government’s dedication to improving the maritime sector’s operational efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
