Citizens assaulted a man in North Karachi area, mistaking him for a robber.
According to SHO Shamshad Chachar, two policemen, patrolling a locality on a motorcycle, had flagged to men, also on a motorcycle. However, the men tried to flee, which made citizens believe that they were robbers, he said.
Citizens present at the spot caught one of them and assaulted him, while his partner managed to escape, the SHO added. The police took the injured man in their custody and shifted him to a hospital for treatment. The arrested man was identified as Shahrukh, who is a generator mechanic.
