The spokesperson of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has reported that two major bursts have been identified in the 84-inch diameter water main line on University Road.
While repair work on the first burst began on Tuesday, a thorough inspection revealed a second burst earlier this morning. According to the spokesperson, repair work on both bursts is progressing rapidly, with heavy machinery and Water Corporation staff deployed at the site.
However, due to the damage at two locations and the comprehensive nature of the repairs, some delay in completion is expected. The spokesperson assured that the repair work is expected to be completed by Saturday evening. Under the directives of CEO KW&SC Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the work is being carried out on an emergency basis, operating 24 hours a day without interruption, to restore water supply to residents as soon as possible.
